The Junior Jujitsu competition held at Team Mushin Honbu dojo on July 29th was a fantastic day filled with excitement and camaraderie. The event featured children aged 6 to 13 who eagerly competed in a grappling tournament, showcasing their impressive skill sets to their parents and friends. It was heartwarming to witness the children’s dedication and determination on display

The sense of community and support among the children was truly remarkable, as they cheered each other on and displayed remarkable resilience and fighting spirit throughout the tournament. This event marked the culmination of a 7-month martial arts project that brought together children from various backgrounds and age groups. During this project, the children learned the fundamental principles of sport jujitsu and gained a deeper understanding of leading healthier lifestyles.

This achievement wouldn’t have been possible without the generous support of organizations fight for Peace and Sport England. Their funding assistance played a crucial role in making this this project & event a success and in enabling us to provide these valuable opportunities to the children.

Looking ahead, our goal is to continue offering sport jujitsu classes to children and to provide them with opportunities to compete at least twice a year in our dojo and with other jujitsu clubs, We believe that these experiences not only foster a love for martial arts but also contribute to the development of important life skills such as discipline, teamwork, and self-confidence.

Overall, the Junior Jujitsu competition was a testament to the hard work and dedication of both the children and local community and not forgetting our wonderful volunteers & couches that made it all possible. We’re excited about the future and the continued growth of this program, enriching the lives of young individuals through the practice of martial arts and the principles they learn along the way.

thankyou again to everyone involved
